Why the Fitness Industry?

Today, with health a bigger concern than ever, gyms play a much larger role in members’ lives. Health and fitness clubs serve nearly every segment of the population, which is why Retro Fitness continues to thrive no matter the overall economic climate. The U.S health and fitness industry takes in nearly $30 billion in sales every year and is only getting bigger as people realize now more than ever how important taking care of your health is. Before the global pandemic, the fitness industry was projected to grow by 20% in the next 5 years and after the pandemic shined a light on the unhealthy behaviors and habits in the country, that growth number will only get larger. The fitness industry is also Amazon-proof, as there will always be a need for in-club fitness, and Retro Fitness’ low-cost model also allows us to stay recession-resistant.

Franchise Opportunities

Business ownership looks different for everyone, and Retro Fitness understands that every Franchisee won’t fit into the same mold. With that in mind, we created different ownership opportunities.

1

Single-Unit

A great start for the first-time business owner, single-unit owner-operators are the general manager of their business. A hands-on approach to franchising, with responsibilities pertaining to the day-to-day activities of the club. Franchising is built on single-unit owners, and they play an important role in our system.
2

Multi-Unit

Multi-Unit Franchises are for those looking for a more hands-off, investment-style approach to franchising. Multi-Unit Investors are typically not looking for a new career and often hire general managers to take care of individual clubs. A great model for experienced business owners looking to diversify their portfolio with a proven brand in the fitness industry.
3

Area Developer

There are plenty of available markets across the United States that Retro Fitness hasn’t developed in quite yet. Area development is the scheduled development of a market that currently has few Retro Fitness locations. The area developer will purchase the exclusive rights to a geographic territory and commit to their development schedule, being the first to break into a new market with Retro Fitness.
